How steam and games works

I am new to Steam.
I wanted to play NFS.
Does my steam subscription allow me to play any game or I have to purchase the game separately/ I want to play on my PC/laptop?

Purchase games, download, play.

Subscribe to EA Play, pay a monthly fee and download and play whichever games are included.
