USD/TRY Problem [STEAM]
After switching to the dollar exchange rate in steam turkey, we thought that the game prices would remain the same over USD / TRY, a game like Ark survival evolved, which was 4.6$ just a few hours ago, is now 15$, it has tripled in price, you want people to download pirated games via torren as before. no one buys original games.

Because right now the listing prices are not at levels that citizens of a country like Turkey, which is experiencing a severe economic crisis, can buy.

Your game sales will not stop, don't worry, 0.5% of the country's population of money laundering, theft, fraud, profiteering rich mass will continue to buy from you, which makes 300-400 thousand people according to the population rate, but now everyone will continue to download pirated games, unfortunately.

As the Turkish people, we ask you to bring this issue to the board of directors.

katılıyorum cüzi miktarda fark olacağını düşündük dolara geçişte nerdeyse 2katına yakın fiyatlarla karşımıza çıktı oyunlar bu şekilde epic games ve torrent kullanımı artacaktır.

Yes, for example the game Dungeon Defenders cost 40 TL which is less than 1.5$ per dollar but now the game costs 15$ which is more than x10 times its cost. The difference between the 19th and 20th is terrible.

1 Lira = $0.035 USD
The Lira is being converted via the current exchange rates.
The game developers got tired of being paid in a currency that had little global value.
Turkey is not the only region to have this change.

Also pirating the games will simply end up with malware and other viruses on your system, there is no safe pirate site no matter what anyone says.

EA'in uygulaması, Microsoft (Xbox) Store, Rockstar Games Launcher

Steam gibi olarak Xbox mağazası var. Orada da oyun var iyi. EA Pass da var Steam'de olduğu gibi.

I will not buy anything until they find a better solution.
As a person in Turkey, who earns TL, and has bank accounts in TL, why should I buy games in USD and go through all the bank procedures and extra fees? This is a terrible solution.
Don't buy anything my fellow Turkish players.

A game was 25 Turkish Liras yesterday with 50% discount.
Now this game is 7,49 USD (218 Turkish Liras) with 50% discount.

Steam's regional pricing policy put an end to pirated games. But it looks like we will have to buy pirated games again. I hope Steam did its calculations well. because I think it will make a lot of losses from the Turkish market. I personally will not buy a game with dollar. thanks

As a junior programmer, I can verify your statement is false, but still piracy is negative and Steam had the regional pricing prior to fight back against it, and they succeeded. The drama is temporary but you'd need to understand a common's concern as they just reflect how they feel in the current state due to not knowing what matters and if this was even final, which is not. Ignoring a majority of active population (not talking on behalf of Turkey but the whole region besides the 2 that got hit by the change) is a vital component providing a worldwide service (this is why the existence of free to play mobile games with crazy amounts of paid and non-paid costumers).

This will change, Steam is not so ignorant on how to manage marketing and advertising, was it a wrong execution? Yeah, but so was Unity's, companies can also do wrong moves. But so far I think it's just a matter of time until publishers get back on their desktop to adjust the prices, even so after having a weekly analysis of store visits and wishlist ratio, will it be the same as before, of course nah, but it'll be at a point where it is bearable again. Currently it's just all fish, you can't really expect transaction on a good in an instant 1000~1500% price increase
