computer is not reconizing my nx8 controller

So i installed my first game and was going to play it on my computer . when i go to open the game to play a box pops up saying to connect my controller which is connected via the usb port on the back of the controller a spektrum nx8 by the way and into my usb on computer . so what the heck is going on? how or what do i do to get the controller to be reconized thank you for the help .

don't you get any notification when you connect your controller?
