-This one was fun to play but is a little more of a text-based adventure since you make all choices yourself to affect the outcome. I suppose it has a sort of horror-esque settings but there are no jump scares or anything, it's simply a bit more of a dark story.

-This one was a lot more relaxing but still had a really interesting story. It's free like the last game but you can also buy the sequels.

-Okay, this game is centred a little around romance but the most sexual thing that comes from it is a kiss (and that's only if you unlock certain endings). There are some non-romantic routes to take if it doesn't interest you entirely.

-THIS, I most certainly recommend. Like The Bottom of the Well, it involves quite a bit of decision making but because of that, there are so many different routes and outcomes that you can explore. If you liked Narcissu, I assume you also like anime-type art styles, which is notable in this game.

-I've heard it's good but I've never actually played it. I believe there's also a sequel.

-Corpse Party used to be a favourite of mine on the PSP. It IS a horror game but is pixelated so probably wouldn't be too graphic. There are lots of different versions of the game so I don't know if this is the original, thus I really can't say if it has jump scares or not. The original had a few but none that would come up on the screen or anything.
There's also always Telltale games. They do involve some action and decision making so aren't actually visual novels, but they're very story centric and won't involve as much effort as most games. You could also consider trying Life is Strange if you haven't already. Her Story is also very good but is an FMV, not visual novel. It basically involves watching live-action clips of a woman being interrogated and trying to decipher her involvement in a crime.
I'll update this post if I think of any more.
I might try Bottom of the Well first, I really like dark stories to begin.
If I'm gonna look for VNs online, where should I start?

While it has the whole dating aspect to it, its also got a really rich story. I was very surprised by the twists
Clannad
If you want somewhere to find visual novels online http://fuwanovel.net/novels is a good place to start. They don't offer direct downloads any more, but most of the patches are still up and it's a good place for finding/researching what you might like.
http://erogedownload.com/downloads/ has a lot of regular visual novels you can download. However you have to a) go through quite a bit of advertising for each download, and b) do be aware these are obviously of questionable legality as many are now getting proper western releases.
I'll try looking for at those sites, thanks a lot!
Also; Steins;Gate .... it is awesome. Not on Steam though.
