You only need 4gb of RAM to run the forest and most older COD titles, though 8gb is recomended for general games these days. ( and both computers have that)
The HP envy's i7 CPU is a quad-core CPU rather than the duel-core i3 that the Dell comes with, It is recomended and sometimes required to have a Quad-core CPU to run some games.
(like "The Forest")
The biggest factor for gaming is not the CPU or RAM though it's the graphics card. Both these computers come with a stock intel HD graphics card which may run some older titles but will make the games you play look like crap in comparison to them running on an actual dedicated GPU.
So I would recomend you get the HP Envy and buy the best graphics card you feel comfortable buying, either from the customization section in the HP store, or buying one seperatly and instaling it yourself. Having the i7 will ensure that you can upgrade to a better card later and not have to worry about the CPU bottle necking your card. (if you can find a cheaper pc with an i5, that will work just about as well as an i7)
Good luck to ya.

You better post this in the above forum, I see the word Dell in your URL, that can't be good.
