Whats the best way to name a steam account?

Struggling to come up with a name for a new steam account. Whats the best way of going about this?

Obviously using my own name would be a security risk, so do I just name it something random, or is using words too risky? Do I just use letters, symbols and numbers in a random sequence?

Any advice appreciated.

the steam filter is now working on the profile name to help stop the advertising spam. a legit site does not need you to advertise it on other sites, nor does it need to offer specials for putting it in your profile name.

it has be nice being able to not see a bunch of 3rd party site names when looking at a page of forum threads.

So if you are talking about creating a name for yourself whether that be the User Name / Account Name or the Steam Gamer Tag thing.
(Man I do prefer Xbox's way of dealing with account names.)

Just break everything down. Take a look at different parts of WHO. YOU. ARE.

Different parts of your personality: ....
Different parts of your physical attributes: ....
Your personal successes: ....
Your personal failures: ....
Your favourite colours: ....
Your favourite food: ....
Your favourite animal: ....
Your favourite ANYTHING: ....

BASICS is BREAKING everything DOWN :3

Once you have finished breaking down and picking the words you like then start combining them all together to make YOUR NAME which at MOST should be THREE consecutive words and at LEAST only ONE word. A name that symbolises YOU. You want this name to be a part of YOU, To MEAN YOU, Because when YOU hear this name spoken YOU will immediately know that THEY/THAT PERSON are/is talking to YOU, and only YOU. Your own personal and Unique Alias name. Hope this helps. Just grab a sheet of paper and start with the format I gave you and you'll find some absolutely awesome names you can smash together to make something even better.
You can mix your own name in as well to personalise it better.
Mine comes from part of my own IRL name spliced in with my initials, my older gamertag and then adding a quality or trait I liked in myself. I chose the word KIND but changes the word to sound vaguely like that but not exactly like that
