PC Building Help - No Idea What I'm Doing
Hello and thanks for taking the time to read this. In 2016 I bought my first gaming PC, pre-built by Digital Storm. The computer was an All-In-One 34 inch curved monitor with the computer components placed inside. Yes, so no tower. It cost a fortune (3,300 US). These are the specs.

Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-6600k CPU @ 3.5 GHz
RAM 16 GB
64-Bit Operating System, 64-based processor
Mother Board ASUS z170I Pro Gaming
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070
SSD 256 GB
Hard Drive 1 TB

Just recently I noticed issues with space and definitely need a better SSD. I'm not good with computers, but I understand that some of my components are probable expired or out of date now as well. My computer monitor being 34 inches is cool, but its not 4k nor can it go back 60 FPS. Since my computer is an all in one, if I want a new monitor I will have to buy a new gaming PC all together.

Should I try to upgrade my current rig or just get a new computer. I'm not made of money anymore lol, bought this back when my folks still paid the bills. Hoping not to spend more than $1,500 US. If I buy an entirely new computer, what would the value of this one be at in-case I found someone who wanted it. Any input or tips is appreciated!

Thank you!

Sell the 1070 on eBay for about $350-$400, keep the hard drives and use the money from selling the gpu to put towards a new pc.

Thank you all for your feedback. Callahan I'll post my question in the appropriate section, sorry about that. I'm not used to the discussion section.

You don't think I should try to sell the computer as a whole?

But then I would be stuck with a standard monitor. No 4k or past 60 FPS. Do you think its not that important?

tbh your build is fine but having monitor 34inches is too big ..
(suggestion)maybe you should try to buy 144hzrefresh rate montior 1ms response maybe you appreciate later on ..espcially BENQ montiors..

My Samsung 34" ultrawide is an amazing size, especially at 3440x1440 and a refresh rate of 165Hz.

Nah. The GPU alone is worth the money by itself. Keeping the hard drives just makes things easier for you.

The rest can be sold and used separately since the i5 has integrated graphics.
