steam links open in chrome instead of stupid browser

every time i click a link it opens it in internet browser or at this point Microsoft edge but i hate it, i never use that browser. is there any way that i could make chrome as my default browser or with steam itself.

Have you set Chrome as your default on windows? If not, start there.

Start menu > Settings > Apps > on the left side select 'Default apps' > click web browser and set it to Chrome.

or

Go to your Steam settings > Web Browser > type in https://www.google.com

That will make the overlay browser start on the Google home page.

I do still get CERTAIN links that will open with Edge. Don't know why but it is what it is.

I'll add to this. Windows tends to revert this when you do updates,so make sure to redo this after every update incase it happens to you also.

thanks both of you. i did the first one and wanted to do the steam web browser as well but it was strangely already set to https://www.google.com

where is the start menu i can not find it or the settings
