Question about Steam Collectables (Cards)

So I've never been that big about the whole card idea, but after playing Celeste and loving it, and seeing that I can customize my profile towards the game and get the badges, I thought why not. now I have the lvl 5 badge for it and all of the common wallpapers, but I was wondering if there is any other way, now after lvl 5, to get those uncommon and rare wallpapers and foil cards without straight up paying? Thx 4 reading if u got this far, help if u want to :)

Yeah. You get wallpapers and emoticons for making badges, you can't downgrade badge's level, and for games badges only 6 levels avaliable: 5 common and 1 foil. Foil gives same ammount of exp, same drop chances and costs much more since foil cards are rare. If you're not lucky while badge leveling, your only options are purchacing wallpaper/emoticon you want on Market or try to make it via another account.

Some cards are costly, but once you own a game, you can make booster packs (random 3 cards) of it via gems. You can make one booster pack of selected game every 24 hours if you have enough gems in your inventory. You can make booster packs even after finishing all possible game's badges. So you can supply alt account with cards for another try ^^

Anyways, in 99% of times, its not worth.

Meh, sometimes worth. Like when new H-game with cards releases, with a bit of luck you can make about 2-3 times more cash than you spend on game and gems. Prices usually are nice for first 2 weeks. Not so many great H-games with cards since Steam starting being even more b`tchy about their policies.

You can get levels cheap with 8-10 cent garbadge badges. I have few expensive ones, but most of mine are garbadge. Check those on market, except for foil ones, Va-11 Hall-A, Lily's Day Off and Galaxy Girls.

You can try to trade for them with cards you get from other games, or trade those for gems and try to trade gems for them.

The biggest thing about trading with cards I get from other games is that I'm more of a stay with certain games kind of guy, I don;t usually get new games unless its been like 4-5 months. But I can always sell my CSGO skins if I want to, seeing as I don't play it anymore xD

Most of us get games in bundles and use idlers for cards mining :)
Anyways, games with loot are an option ^^
