Steam is having trouble connecting to the Steam servers

Lost connection in the middle of the game. Cant connect with mine main account. Secondary account works fine. Tried reinstaling Steam.

Also having this problem along with 200 other users on DownDetector. Steam please assist.
Known info for this issue is that affected users can login to the website but not from steam client. Only a subset of users are affected. My guess is that there is a particular server that is hung that will not release our accounts.
If this is the case then restarting the server that my account is in should remedy the issue.

I'm currently having this issue. I can login via website / phone app but I simply cant loging via steam client. It's getting frustrating please solve this issue ASAP ! :(

Same problem. Worked for hundreds of hours then around 1430 this afternoon cannot connect. Have reset router, modem, re-started computer, even deleted and re-installed steam

Same problem, was logged in a few hours earlier, then it said lost connection to steam server. Later on I tried relaunching steam, but couldn't log in to the steam application itself. I can log in to the website, use the mobile app, but not the steam client/application itself. When logging in to the client I get "Steam is having trouble connecting to the Steam servers". Hopefully they will find a solution soon

Same here. Cant play any games as steam wont login. Can login to website ok.

I tried making another account, and surprisingly was able to log in to the steam to that alternate account. It just my main account that simply cannot connect to the servers. I think this might be a problem on the steam servers themselves. It's just weird that I can log in to the website without a problem, but not the application.
