Disable Screenshots completely on steam!
Hello. I am playing a few games at once and every time i load a game to play I notice that on the menu beforehand there is a tab which states all the 'screenshots' i apparently took.

I wanted to resolve this so i googled and used the steam settings to disable this button.

but it still wont disable. the screenshot is taken apparently in frames, i am using a controller for a few games and i cant seem to find anyone with this issue anywhere.

in summary, can someone please help me stop screenshotting on everything i own. including client, controller or even keyboard function.

it keeps taking MASS amounts of shots.

http://i65.tinypic.com/2v0k9hu.png - this is a screenshot of my screen!

thanks.

happy new year.

To disable the screenshot while you play Steam games, go to Steam > Settings > In-Game tab > uncheck the "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game" and press OK.
Hope it helps!

The section in the library can not be removed.

The screenshot uploader can be turned off. Steam > Settings > Cloud >>> 2nd checkbox

I've unchecked the "Enable Steam Overly while in-game" box. My problem is when I restart my computer I have to wait a couple of minutes for Screenshot Uploader to quit. Even disabled in-game it is still loading in the background. Is there a way to stop it loading?

Posting in hopes you someday get an answer, snorlock. It has started doing this in the past two months. Even when I have only opened and closed steam games, not saved it, not taken a screenshot, nuttin'. I've done so to test this. It will still be running hours later when I haven't played a game at all.

There is zero in my uploaded screens ("Screenshots" in my profile) folders on steam either.

So - what's uploading, and to where?

Sounds like you are on the wrong account.

Thank you for the explanation, but no, that's been disabled for years, I've re-enabled and re- disabled it repeatedly, and there are no screenshots being uploaded, but as the OP and others have said, it still runs - and still prevents shut down. You mainly notice it when you've had a hard crash in game and want to re-start.

I can't post a screenshot of my shutdown screen to prove it :)

And no, not on the wrong account - I only have one, and the game(s) being played are attached to that account, and that (this) account is the only one that has ever been opened on this machine.

Settings; In Game; Screenshot shortcut key(s); Enter "`". That's they key with the split vertical bar. This will display "None" in the box.
I just changed it to something obscure Alt-Ctrl-Shift-\
