Listen dude, Gaming has taught me English, it has taught me to communicate with people that I don't know, I still have friendships with people from years back that I met on the Internet.
Some states that FPS games also improve your hand-to-eye coordination and reactions.

Gaming is great for a lot of things. BUT spending several hours just plowing through enemies with your Greatswords, while you're sitting in an office chair can have bad effects on your back, eyes and mental AND physical health.

So spend your time playing good games, with friends and not for too many hours. And tell your mom to GET OUT OF YOUR ROOM.
