GTX 1070 ti low fps in-game
Hello. I'm wondering if anyone can help me with this. I seem to be running a pretty low fps in-game with my 1070 ti. I ran the Unigine Heaven benchmark, and was getting well over 200 fps in some spots on the Ultra preset, with gpu usage at around 98%, 71 degrees C. But in game (I tested on The Witcher 3, GTA 5, Battlefield 1, and Far Cry 5) and all were getting about 60fps, at only 58% usage, no matter what graphics preset I used. My cpu is running just fine, 3.9 ghz, which is my optimized overclock, at only about 25-35% usage, and 61 degrees C, max. Does anyone have an idea as to what the problem is here?

My system is as follows:
CPU: Ryzen 7 1700x overclocked to 3.9 ghz
Motherboard: Asus Prime x370pro
RAM: G Skill ripjaws, 32GB running at 3088 mhz
GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 Ti FTW2
Monitor: ASUS VX238H, 60hz, 1920x1080

Drivers are up to date, and my Nvidia settings are set to maximum performance. It makes no difference.

Your fps might be locked with VSync if you are measuring a stable 60 fps. Should mention that having over 60fps won't do much since you're running on a 60hz monitor, unless you're playing a first-person shooter where fps sometimes dips low in which case it might be nice to start at 150+ fps (your monitor will never recieve more fps than 60 at any given time though).
Anyways try unchecking vertical sync or changing the max fps to 120 or so.

i literally have the same build apart from the monitor and i have never experienced this problem.

the only thing i can suggest if you want more frames then you will have to reduce the quality from ultra to high. also you dont really need shadows.

I tried that but it made no difference. I even set it to low and it still made no difference.

I already have VSync turned off... That's what I was thinking. My monitor has a lower refresh rate, so I won't get anything higher than that. But if that's the case, then how was I able to get 150-220 fps in the Unigine benchmark?

Even in the Unigine benchmark, what was displayed on your monitor was never over 60hz, but getting the score of 150-220 fps in unigine just shows your pc can handle alot more frames than what your screen can display. I mean, I'm sure if you somehow tweak some settings, you can make your pc generate 150-220 frames per second, but you'll never be able to show more than 60 of those in a second on your display. 100% sure it's possible, just don't think it'll make a noticable difference.

Edit: I think u knew what I was talking about b4, just trying to clarify

I have had some weird issues with low Frame drop but not like how you are describing. I would have a random frame drop of 2 to 10 fps for a second or so and that not fun playing GTA 5 driving from cops when that happened. Recently I had found my SSD wih my OS was always full not matter what I had erased and removed. finally I gave in and re-installed windows fresh. During the process I looked at my mobo downloads and found I was behind several mobo firmare updates and chipset drivers and never again have I had the FPS drop.

I would say do the same thing wipe your PC and start over again. But in all honesty it sounds like there is something limiting your frames I would look at the nvidia geforce experince thing and see if anything there is doing something.

actually for future issues so you better understand what is happening is the card you are using is not directx 12 complient and when you go to windows 10 you go to direct x 12 by default the benchmark you performed was for the 2009 graphics cards cards that run direct x 9 which give you high framerate because it doesnt know what to do with memory past 4 gigs i recommend unigine superposistion for the latest test for that card i also recommend another test thats a free test download the alien vs predator benchmark test this is for the 2010 game here is why if you start noticing choppyness or slow frame rate in that test then there is something wrong with your graphics card driver or the nvidia software because that test actually will run on a 1 gig hd radeon hd5760 at full frame rate
im high man!
