Hey I just found a great deal on g2play but it says that I will buy a "Steam CD Key" but I don't know if that just gives me the right to my game or does it give me a game? Please answer, I really want to know what it is!

There is just a risk of losing the game and your money. But nothing else.

You are just not supporting the devs/pubs for purchasing their game(s).

illegal, no. you can buy from what ever site you want.

the difference is:

authorized reseller - get their keys from the game developer/publisher
Unauthorized reseller - get their keys from who knows where (stolen keys, fake keys, used keys, demo version keys, etc)

better to go with the authorized key resellers, if there is a problem with the key, they will assist you. unauthorized resellers are more likely to try and run out the clock so you cannot issue a chargeback.
