My Account name was changed to community banned and my profile pic was removed. My friend list is empty and the info said "This account has violated the Steam Terms of Service Agreement.
This account has been flagged by Steam Support for violations of the Terms of Service Agreement.
Purchasing, gifting, trading, buying and selling items on the Community Market, and cd-key activation will be disabled.
Account functionality will be limited. Bans are permanent, non-negotiable and cannot be removed by Steam support.
In order to prevent losing valuables skins, we allow you to send them to storage account or friend within 1 hour.

Why would Steam do something like that when infact they could make a popup window that would tell me that i was community banned. I believe this to be a scame

This is a scam.

Your account has been hijacked. Someone has been able to change your name and profile information and remove all your friends.

Possible causes:
* entering your account login information into a third-party website (some websites disguise themselves to look like Steam)
* having malware on your computer
* any other way that someone might be able to gain access to your account, such as by watching you type or accessing your e-mail

The purpose of the scam is to cause you to send your items to another account. DO NOT SEND YOUR ITEMS; DO NOT DO ANY TRADES.
