Mouse drift ONLY in FPS games?
HI all, sorry if this is the wrong spot..

I've got a Dell bluetooth travel mouse paired with my 2010 13" macbook pro. Though the mouse sometimes randomly disconnects (and eventually comes back), my biggest issue is that anytime I begin play in Counter-Strike or L4D, there's an intense drift to the right that I can't seem to make go away. The mouse is stationary and acts as expected in menu screens and in other games.

I've tried turning off bluetooth and playing with only the trackpad, but that doesn't seem to do anything. I've also tried another mouse, with no luck. Makes me think there's something to do with settings, but I'm not sure...

Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.

Have you tried playing in Windowed mode or changing your game's resolution (possibly to the same resolution as your desktop)? I often find that mouse drift is a matter of confusion between where the game thinks the mouse should be and where the system thinks the mouse should be.

Awesome, I'll try it out. Thank you!

Looks like it's still not working, I've tried about everything I can think of.

It's a long shot, since the games you mentioned shouldn't be affected by this, but do you have by any chance a gamepad plugged in?

I have a similar problem, wired usb mouse, onloy has happend in L4d2 starts ok sometimes then
suddenly it starts a dramatic drift to the left. sensitivity settings will change the rate of drift but will not stop it thought it may be Dpi settings on the mouse but no effect

also, check how clean your reciver/lense on the mouse is. a piece of lint can throw it off
just some things I've tried, I have not found a solution for my problem yet but one of these may help.

just a follow up, it seems my joystick was conflicting (duh) I should have unplugged all non-esencial usb devices first. Always best to pair down to most minimal config. and add devices
untill problem can be replicated hopefuly my pain is your gain.

I don't, though a few months ago I remember trying to use my ps3 controller via bluetooth and ending up overriding my mouse settings somehow. Couldn't recreate the problem now (I don't remember it), but it might have something to do with it.

Right, I've tried that (disabled the mouse, just used the trackpad: same problem) with no help. See above for possibly relevant information.

Thanks for the help everyone
