Need a good game while doing homework

I was looking for a game that I can have run on my desktop and progressively advance in the game ( doesn't matter how slow) while I do homework on my laptop, I have a Mac and I would like a MMORPG game but if there is something else out there that would be fine, I also enjoy the afk"ness" of mining.

If you aren't fixated on MMORPGs, DEFCON has a wonderful "office" mode, where the game slowly runs in realtime in the background (taking roughly 6 to 8 hours per game).

I would but i am more of a "midevil" time period player not into futuristic games or monthly fees but thank you it seems like that is a good game for mining i have heard

i would strongly suggest tf2 as you can idle and rack up kills on strange weps (when u get them)

Honestly? TF2? No.Just No. F2P ♥♥♥♥ ruined it.
I suggest GMod. No monthly fees or anything. Plus there are heaps of gamemodes, and i do my hwk while its loading and when i'm a zombie in the Zombie Survival mode.
