Original XBox controller not happy
I have an original wired XBox controller that I've got hooked up, and the system preferences app for it shows it in perfect health. But when I'm in Big Picture and go to play games with "full support" for controllers, only a few buttons work, and sometimes none at all.

Has anyone else had any problems with original XBox controllers?

hi I have an X-Box gamepad without cable and goes well with my Mac in BP!
Hmmm, how old is your gamepad?
Probably going on 10 years now, but it doesn't get much use. It has collected dust for a long time, but it has always served me well in the past.
I am of the opinion that as a chip missing so it knows it's what my colleague, believe you brauchts a new, cost so much, peace
An original xbox controller? woah, werent those some kind of proprietary wired connection (unless, you have a specific usb one?). Nonetheless, I got a new x360 one for $30 at best buy after telling them that office max was selling it at $30 (they price match)
The original controllers had a proprietary connector, but still used USB signalling, so it was a simple matter to splice it with a USB connector and use it. It worked quite well for a while, but I went ahead and bought a 360 controller and wireless adapter.
Ah, interesting. I guess I learned something new today. Nonetheless, have fun!
