Well, it depends.

Do you have a desktop or laptop?
Laptop? Can't upgrade, because the chip will be soldered to the motherboard.
Desktop? The mac pro is the only one I know that you can easily upgrade, and even that is pretty limited. If you do have a mac pro, apparently most GTX 500/600 cards work, as well as the HD 5770/5870

So this is definitely not a Mac Pro, so you have no options in upgrading your gpu. I'll assume it's a MacBook Pro, please post the model identifier.

Your best bet for maximum performance out of that Mac is to always keep mac os up to date (that means get 10.9 Mavericks when it comes out); that's how to get the latest graphics drivers for OS X.

You could also bootcamp with the x64 versions of windows 7 or 8 and download the latest drivers from intel. games still run better in windows on like hardware.

Seriously, though, OP. You bought a Macbook; you're locked in for hardware until Thunderbolt enclosures and external monitors somehow come into your budget. It's better to figure out what games will run well on the hardware you have. I game on a 13" Macbook Air with similar specs and I'm surprised at what runs at ~30FPS. I usually do a search before buying any big name titles.
