Sadly, this is up to EA, who has been a "great" supporter of Apple computers. However, you can enjoy more EA games on Mac including Sims 3 (currently only on Origin)!

You have to convince the publisher or whoever has the rights that if they create a Mac version it will not only be profitable, but more so than whatever they are currently working on if they have to divert resources, or that profit would surpass any additional labor hired.

Also there is a thread at the top of the sugestions/ideas forum for posting games you want to come to steam and I assume it counts for getting Mac versions of existing steam games.

In this case, there is virtually no hope as EA has stopped allowing their newer and future titles on Steam, so if a seque;, remake, or conversion of Mirror's Edge for Mac was ever made it would likely not be available on Steam.
