System Requirements

I want to get the game Civilization 5 for my mac. I have all the requirements beside the CPU Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo (Dual-Core) CPU Speed: 2.4. my processor is a (Quad-Core) Intel Core i7 CPU Speed: 2.3. Since I have twice the number of cores needed but below the CPU speed does that mean the game wont run on my computer?

It should definitely work, do you know your macs model identifier? For example, mine's iMac7,1

the number part is important, go to the apple in the upper left and click it, holding down the option key and click 'System Information...' in the window that appears you will find the model identifier.

I should have no issue running civ 5, the processor is way more powerful than the 2.4 C2D even at a lower clock speed; to maximize performance, make sure the AMD Radeon HD 6750M gpu is running, not the Intel HD 3000 Graphics. Also, running the latest OS X version (10.8.4 Mountain Lion) will yield the highest potential for performance as it has the latest graphics drivers (if your still on 10.6, you should plan on upgrading).

I have run Civ 5 on a much older Intel 2 Core Duo without any issues, provided I stuck to low on all the Graphics Options.
Wiht Quad I7's you'd be at a pretty big advantage

Um will my Mac play the Orange Box.
