Steam dock icon change :-)

Hi guys, i've changed my steam icon to a very nice one, but it seem to change it automatically back to default, when i open it up? :-( I've changed it by dragging the icon over the old one, in the steam apps "Get info" window. Is there any way i can prevent this? Steam lives in my dock, and i have minimizing to icons on. I'm on mountain lion 10.8.2. Any help will be very much appreciated! :-)!

It likely resets with every update and the mac version updates a lot , daily for me as I opt in to beta ( yea im a gluton for punishment) . you could replace the icon in the package file and see if that works

I tried that, but it updates the image on launch. Maybe the startup script can be changed.

please help / bump: changing it through get info and replacing steam.icns in package contents both do nothing for me

Anyone have a VAC-safe way to do this through modifying the start-up script? Can't find anything via google. Really bothers me. Look at my poor individually-made custom icons getting ruined :(

If it isn't obvious I'm a little bit of a control freak, any help is appreciated.


EDIT: and to clarify - steam overwrites/replaces the .icns file (if I've modified it) on startup, it's not that my custom icon gets replaced when steam updates. it's that while steam is running my custom icon doesn't work and while steam isn't running it does work which is frustrating.

Did you get it solved? I've got the same issue here. Can't understand why. control freak too.
