Games Freezing

I have Portal and Portal 2. Both games seem to run just fine (some lag here and there, I attribute that to my machine) but perhaps after 20 or so minutes of gameplay the game freezes up and the audio cuts out. I have to command-tab out of the app and force quit it because it doesn't respond. I literally just had my whole logic board replaced because I was having graphics card issues, but my games still freeze. Is anyone else having a similar problem?

I've been having this problem with Psychonauts a lot for the past week or so.

check your computer temperature. it did the same for me when my macbook pro was too hot to touch. had to increase fan speed using smcfancontrol app. still hot even at double the speed, but no more problems encountered.

@SGT_TI335 I'll gave that a try. I've also found that unplugging my external monitor has decreased the frequency of the game freezes (although not completely prevented). So it's probably a hardware overload problem.
