Does Steam for Mac work at all?
It also is crashing for me when trying to set an external screenshots folder or edit the library folders
Steam -> Preferences -> In-Game tab -> Select External Screenshots Folder button
or
Steam -> Preferences -> Downloads tab -> Steam Library Folders button
Does that also trigger a crash for other people?
I narrowed down the problem to iTunes (11.0.2). I disabled "Open at Login" for iTunes, and (after a reboot) I am able to install games in Steam. However, if I open iTunes, I'm unable to install games in Steam in that log-in session, even after I quit iTunes.
I tried killing the iTunes and iTunes Helper processes in the Activity Monitor, but I'm still unable to install games. So I'm not sure exactly what is causing this problem.
Hope this helps!

Well I'm not sure if iTunes had anything to do with my issue, granted I didn't have iTunes running while trying to run Steam but if there were some iTunes processes going on I have no idea. My issue got so bad that Steam wouldn't even load cause it was trying to download an update. After a few minutes of trying it just popped a window saying that it needs to be connected to the internet (and of course it was), and then it would quit.
I tried to uninstall Steam and reinstall it and that worked just fine for me and I am back up and running. Instructions to Uninstall and Reinstall Steam for Mac can be found on the website and they even tell you how to save your game data if that is something you are worried about. I would suggest any one still having having this problem to just do a simple reinstall. Good luck!
Is there any way to get through to this game-monopolizing company besides trouble tickets? Anyone have a good contact in the gaming industry to get info into the press about this? Know the guys at Penny Arcade or something? This is absurd. The least they could do is issue a statement saying that they know the problem exists and are working on it.
