can't open steam on mac...

It was fine yesterday. Unfortunately I can't open Steam today. No error, no crash report, nothing. Reinstalled Steam... still same issue...
Help, please?

Someone found the fix...I hope this works for all of you. It did for me.
Go into your font book and open all your system fonts. There is a conflict. If you have a font program on your computer instead like suitcase or fontexplorer, just find the system folder and activate all the fonts. You can slowly close them at some point if you don't want them all on but one of those is causing the issue. It worked for me and I tried everything except that, I did this morning and it worked fine.

Open the Font Explorer application, click File and Restore Standard Fonts. It worked for me.

"Something likely went awry with the update, the beta is almost the exact same as the public release is at the moment. You can try deleting your Steam app bundle and let Steam re-download it:

1. Switch to Finder
2. Click "Go" in the menu bar
3. Click "Go to Folder..."
4. Type "~/Library/Application Support/Steam"
5. Click "Go"
6. Delete only the Steam.AppBundle directory

The next time that you start Steam it should automatically re-install the app bundle."

---This FINALLY helped me! I logged back into steam after deleting the bundle. It redownloaded everything. Steam opened up looking different and BAM all updates are already done!

Ill try my best and accepted your invite, but, I dont use mac as often anymore as I used to, so, it may take me a bit longer to try and figure out.

I was having this issue and I discovered that it was because I was using a Mac on Catalina (and then Big Sur). This article directed me to a download of the app that is specifically for 64 bit and now it works https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1055-ISJM-8568&l=english

I tried all of this stuff and none of it fixed my problem. I noticed when I moved the Steam app into the trash and emptied the trash, the files in ~/Library/Application Support/Steam were still there so I deleted the entire Steam folder there. Then I re-installed Steam from the latest installer and it finally worked after installing several updates. Yes, my Mac was completely up to date before I started all this.
