The key is to change the print key in Steam. From the Steam Menu, select Preferences. You should see "Screenshot shortcut keys" on the right side. Choose a key of your liking. I used / (slash) because I saw it elsewhere. Ignore the "SCREENSHOT FOLDER", that doesn't seem to work. Probably should restart Steam.
Now you should get a message in the lower left that a screenshot has been captured when you press your screenshot key. After I did that, I still couldn't find any images in folder selected or in the Steam screenshots folder. On to the Finder.
Wait, first you're going to have to make sure your Library folder is visible. It is hidden by default. Google it. I don't have all the answers.
Open your User folder then the Library folder and let the search begin. Your better off using the column view in the Finder for this exercise. The first part of the journey is straight forward. In the Library folder, open Application Support, then Steam, then userdata. Now it gets dicey.
Inside userdata you'll see folders with just numbers as names. Open each one, until you find another folder with folders of numbers. Open each of these until you find a folder with the file screenshots.vdf. There should be a folder name "remote". Open that folder and keep digging until you find a folder name "screenshots". You have arrived at your destination.
I thought Macs were supposed to be easy.
Or press Command + Shift + 3 to take a full screen screenshot. Not sure if that works in Steam games though.
Also Command + Shift + F4 to select any rectanglar area of the screen, and Command + Shift + F4 + spacebar to select any open window on your screen. Don't think there will be much opportunity to use these on Steam however.
