Apparently you go to Users/[Your name Here]/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Europa Universalis IV/
but there's nothing there
You can rebind them in the game haha
I can take screenshots only via game and via OS X, but both aren't saved in Steam.
P.S. Don't treat us as fools, we all know about fn and F* keys.
There are a few other features I can't get to work, either. My impression from trying to wrangle them makes me suspect that there are some fundamental issues with using Steam under MacOS. From searching the community, it looks like there's not much support for Mac at all. Has anyone found any solid guidance for how to get Steam to work properly on Mac? I'd be especially happy to see a "How to get Steam to work for your Mac" workflow from Steam support that's been QA'ed.
Overlay: At first, I couldn't get the overlay to work at all. I tried a handful of different fixes. The closest I came was setting the MacOS privacy setting for accessibility to allow Steam to have control of the computer. That allowed me to use the shortcut to open the overlay (Shift+Tab, by default). But when I returned to the game after opening the overlay, there was no cursor in the game, which made it unplayable. So I turned off the accessibility option.
Posting a review: I typed up a review for a game, clicked the Yes button to recommend it, then clicked the button to post it. The post button then disappeared, but otherwise the screen remained unchanged (the input box still showed my typed review, the Yes button was selected, and no indication was displayed to indicate anything had posted). In my profile, my review list showed zero reviews.
Cards for exploring my queue: Earlier this week, there was an offer indicating that I'd get some special cards if I explored my queue. I went through the entire queue, and a message appeared indicating that the special cards would be in my inventory. But there's no sign of them.
I do have sympathy for Steam's staff, especially QA. They are in the unenviable position of trying to support a platform to launch software made by tons of different game companies and indie developers. That introduces a lot of variables-- and between new releases, updates, and fixes, I'm sure it's impossible to test every possible combination of Steam + game + OS. But now that I've recently started exploring some of Steam's own features, I'm disappointed to see that so many of them simply don't work for me.
This works, but you have to grant Steam accessibility permissions.
In system settings, go to the privacy settincs > accessibility > Check Steam.
Hope that solves the mystery for all of you :)
Accessibility privileges check box was already checked.
I found an option to reverse the f keys so fn was used for vol functions etc.
This was on my logitec settings, so f1-f12 were without the fn. Direct push.
Also no good.
Oh, and please don't suggest to try what others have already suggested.
It makes it look like you haven't even read through the post. Really annoying to read the same answer over and over. Glad it worked for you, didn't work for the rest of us.
Unless you're just being a smart ass, then that's ok.
