iMac users can't take screenshots, PLEASE HELP!
Hey people, I am so frustrated because I am not able to take screenshots of my gameplay. Everyone seems to know how to take screenshots on a PC, you simply hit the F12 key.

What not everyone realises is that iMac user's F12 is usually bound to some other operation (speaker volume in most cases) by default. As a result, hitting the F12 key on a Mac while ingame does not take screenshots.

I have tried going into options and reassigning the Screenshot to another key, but this doesn't work either. Regardless of the key the screenshot is assigned to, iMac users can't take screenshots!

I also thought I would be clever and took screenshots through my iMac (Shift-Command-3) but Steam doesn't allow us to upload any outside photos into your screenshot folder. >:(

Please help me because I am unable to share my sprays or experiences with any of my Steam friends.

Thanks for your time.

Function = Command?

It's a key that has 'fn' written on it. Its location depends on what kind of keyboard you have. I have an extended keyboard (with 10 key pad) so fn is in the small bank of six above the cursor keys. On a condensed keyboard or a macbook it should be to the left of control.

Or simply change it in the System Preferences (Keyboard control panel, switch to "Keyboard" tab if necessary, select "Use F1, F2, etc. as standard function keys.")

You could rebind the keys used. I use 'Shift+\'.
Pressing fn and F12 for me makes my screen slide to the dashboard

Yes, Thank you BabyFawnLegs! Option + fn + f12 actually takes screenshots. :)

Thanks to both of you, for posting the question, and the solution. Was having a miserable time trying to figure it out!

Even with Option + fn + F12 my macbook still just changes the volume. Cannot for the life of me figure out why.

How can you rebind them? Through Steam? If yes, tell me!

In Steam preferences, look for the "In-Game" tab, then look for "Screenshot shortcut keys" or something along those lines.
