I tried several times to completely uninstall and install the client but didn´t work. Am I missing something? Do I have to buy Crossover software?
Thanks again and happy holidays!
D
If you want to start over and do this the correct way, watch this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNyIDdiEiSw
BEFORE YOU START DOING WHAT HE SAYS:
1. Make sure that the game you're going to install WORKS WITH CROSSOVER! This can be done by first buying/installing the Crossover client software and browsing through both "Supported Applications" and "Community Supported Applications", which is under "Unsupported Applications". If it doesn't appear on either of those lists, you can't install it through Crossover.
2. After finding the game you want to download in Crossover, open your OSX version of Steam and buy the game if you haven't already. If you haven't purchased the game, it won't start the download.
3. After you have Windows Steam and you've installed the Windows game you want to play, open the game like you would normally. You'll notice that a small Steam window pops up, saying "Installing Microsoft DirectX for Windows...". Don't close this or do much of anything on your computer until it's finished. Technically, DirectX was already installed by Crossover, but Steam is performing updates and modifications to it, so that it's optimized for the game you're playing. Very rarely will Steam actually download or modify any files for DirectX, and most often the window will just be a filler until your game starts up.
