Til they fix it I will minimize the windows if they are in the way.
BTW: would love to get the "Full Screen mode" for the normal Steam Client too…
Switching to any other app, the menus all work again. It's just this garbage steam client version.
I can minimize the windows, though. And the menu bar works for me.
I'm not using Big Picture mode, could that be the difference?
The in game steam is also broken..
Or its not an easy fix and they haven't pinned it down yet. Don't give up!
What do you mean by "the in game steam"?
My Steam overlay works in the game I tested it in. (Northgard)
At least, it appears. I didn't look into it in detail yet since its all new.
The one I'm playing now I don't have it enabled. I forget if that's intentional.
Definitely a pretty big bug that relates to the basic operation of the app, so please report it.
This was particularly problematic when I had to update my application preferences. When Steam is in front of a full-screen application, I can't access any of the Steam preferences in the top bar that appears when you mouse over, because those are located in the desktop window. If I go to the desktop window and try to click on that bar, I'm immediately sent back to the window with Steam.
When this happened, I tried closing Steam (not quitting outright) and reopening while in desktop view, but this did not fix the issue. Quitting seems to sometimes but not always help.
I sure hope it's among the higher priority bugs; its getting annoying.
