How to connect to steam on Mac

I know a lot of you Mac users are having trouble connecting to steam, it gives an error that you don't have a connection right? Had the same problem.

Here's how you do it.

After typing in your user and password, the little window that comes up with the message
"connecting steam account:..." click on it and hold it for around 5-10 seconds.
I know you think I'm trolling, but by doing this you're freezing the start up and allowing what ever couldn't get through before, to make it. (Thats my theory lol)

What ever it is it works!

Try it and give feedback so Mac users dont struggle signing in! :)

It just takes time. I get that sometimes and I just wait a little bit an try again.
I dont' click or hold anything. I just wait and retry. I always get on 2nd time,

Yeah, I had this problem immediately after upgrading to the Jan 2014 version of the client. I tried a bunch of different approaches but I don't think any of them helped, and eventually I was able to sign in -- frustrating. Haven't seen the same problem on my PC.
