Using Wii U Pro Controller in big picture mode

Alright guys, I've researched this pretty heavily, made posts on Reddit, and scoured every knowledge base I can find. Still looking for answers. Heres what I did:

pair to mac with wjoy - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogVxtYVf_FY

The problem I'm running into (and it seems all mac users have this problem) is that those buttons that he has to re-map in the second video (the bumper/triggers, etc) dont get saved by steam. Once you hit save, it forgets them again.

Also, the joysticks dont seem to work as they are supposed to.

I haven't been able to find anything on this at all. Theres a mayflash usb bluetooth dongle on amazon that apparently works with Steam without all these issues but its windows only.

Not sure if its a problem with wjoy or with steam...I would think that they are both Steam bugs because in the first video he plays in a mac emulation app and it appears to work fine.

Anyone have further knowledge or ties to developers who can give more insight into the issue?

Steam doesn't seem to like pairing with any controllers on OSX. Only ones I've gotten to work so far are the dualshock 3 and 4. Steam appears to pair and map automatically with the bluetooth controllers.

Update: I contacted the developer of wjoy and this is what he said:

I don't think this is a problem with wjoy. My Wii U Pro Controller works fine with OpenEmu, but I have a similar problem with Steam.

I saw someone note this somewhere but steam doesn't save buttons 20+. Does anyone care to fix this or explain why it doesn't work?
