Downloading Windows Games to External from Mac
Be sure to read this bit: I have a PC. My crappy ISP's down is ~ >1.0 MB and the limit cap is 10 GB. I'm currently at my friend's house downloading my entire library onto an external HD, but I'm stuck with Mac OS devices.

Is it possible to download Window games onto my external without partioning my friend's Macbook?

yeah, go to preferences>downloads>add steam folder and select your external hd and make a folder to hold the games. have the external hd as fat32 would be good.
mac could read and write ntfs drives with a 3rd party add on and windows could read and write htfs mac format with a 3rd party add on, so to play it safe, have the external hd as fat 32 because both mac and windows can read and write fat32 natively.

I don't believe you can do this. You can download application dependencies that would be shared between the two platforms just fine, but the problem will come down to an exe vs an app folder.

You can download Steam games on to your drive no problem, but your Windows machine shouldn't be able to correctly read the data to a Windows standard. You can always test ultra's theory though, please do update us on this.

My best suggestion would be to create a temporary bootcamp partition that you can delete once you are done with installing your games. (Doesn't avoid your problem of wanting to avoid creating HDD/SDD partitions.)

Alright thanks for the suggestions. I'll be trying it now.
or just bring your computer to your friend's house and use his internet to download the steam games onto your PC
