Aerial combat games for Mac?
I'm new to Steam, and a Mac user. I've posted a similar thread in the Mac forums (not sure where to put this) - does anyone know of any good aerial combat/dogfighting games for Mac OS that I could get via Steam? I don't mind if they're not strictly flight sims. I play Sky Gamblers on my iOS devices and really like those games - particularly the historical setting. I've seen some great looking games since joining Steam - the Sturmovic one and others, but I'm not on the right platform.
Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

Try War Thunder, it's a tank/combat flight game for free!
I've tried War Thunder, on my Mac, but it's very confusing with all its 'research' and crews and everything - plus the controls are abysmal. I play flight games with a joystick - especially games like WT that are so puffed up on their sense of 'history' and accuracy - but its become clear to me that WT is meant to be played with a mouse.
Well, if you like Sky Gamblers, how about Sky Gamblers? Two of the three "Air Conflicts" games are also available for OS X, but they generally got bad reviews.
Yeah, I love Sky Gamblers. Great game. I've played heaps on iOS. I also tried the Air Conflicts games - terrible. For me, at least. Really bad, shaky picture, bad controls. As far as game time, I've been flying in Wings of Prey the most. Since I did the Boot Camp thing on my other Mac and have been able to try the Windows games.
You can use a joystick in War thunder. And there are several battle modes in which you can play in. Arcade mode requires no skill, no joystick, and has oversimplified flight models. Realistic mode has realistic flight models and your plane can rip its wings off at high speeds, your pilot can black out due to g-forces, no aim reticle is provided for you, etc. Simulator mode has full real controls, real flight models, you are locked into the cockpit view of your aircraft, no markers over enemy/friendly planes, and requires a joystick.
And if you need help understanding controls, in the main hanger screen (You can see your planes/tanks here) in the upper right hand corner there is game options and controls.
If you need help understanding what controls mean here is a very helpful guide --> http://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/16025-frequently-asked-questions-for-beginners/
Ah, thanks for that! Very helpful I will check it out.
