[this game] is not available on your current platform (SOLVED)
Hi!

I can't install any Steam games on my MacBook Pro. I have a lot of games that are supposedly available for Mac OS X (Bastion, Awesomenauts, Limbo, FEZ, the list goes on), but when I try to install one of them I get an error message saying "[this game] is not available on your current platform". What is the issue? I have rebooted, deleted every Steam-associated file I could find on my computer, reinstalled Steam, but still it doesn't work.

I am running the latest version of Steam and the latest version of Mac OS X (10.90).

Please help. Thanks.

Really? I'm the only one having this problem?

I'm having the same problem, tried to reinstall steam and it's the same. I can't even play games I've already played before.

SOLVED: you need to put the correct version of the IOS. I manually put 10.90 for compatibility reasons of other program but the latest version is 10.10.1. Go to /System/Library/CoreServices/ and change the file SystemVersion.plist (open it with something else than xcode) change the value of the tag ProductVersion for 10.10.1 instead of 10.90. Took me a whole week to figure it out.

Yes, I had done the exact same thing myself in order to be able to run other software that at the time was not compatible with Yosemite. Steam support was unhelpful, but after a long time I figured it out myself, and solved the issue by reverting SystemVersion.plist to the lastest OS X version. Forgot to come back and update this topic. Sorry about that.
that the same thing that happened to me

Can someone just tell me PLEASE how to exactly get to "System/Library/CoreServices/"? I'm having so much trouble just finding it and deleting and reinstalling Steam does not help, nor can I find how to "upgrade" Steam.

Open Finder. In the menu bar at the top of your screen, click "Go", and then click "Go to Folder..." at the bottom of the drop down menu. In the small window that pops up, paste this text

/System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist

and click "Go".
