System requirements - Borderlands Pre-Sequel
Hi,

I have searched high and low for an answer to my system requirement questions, but have been unable to find clarity.

This is my first venture into steam and need to understand if my Mac meets the requirements of Borderlands The Pre-Sequel.

The sales page advises:

OS: 10.9.5 (Mavericks) - I have this
Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (Dual-Core) - I have 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5 - is this sufficient?
Memory: 4 GB RAM - I have 8 gb so should be fine
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 2600 / NVidia Geforce 8800 / Intel HD 4000 - I have Intel Iris - is this sufficient?
Hard Drive: 13 GB available space - this is no problem.

Thanks for your assistance. Hopefully my mac meets the requirements to get started.

Anthony

Hey Anthony, Apple doesn't make it easy to figure out minimum specs since they always compare models by the year they are released.

Your macbook not only meets the minimum requirements, but it exceeds them. The game will run on your mac just fine.

For a more detailed reason:
1. Core 2 Duo is much older than the Core i5 (Core 2 Duo is dual core, Core i5 is Dual-Core with Hyper Threading and GPU integration)
2. Intel Iris (5100) and Intel Iris Pro (6100) are newer and faster than Intel HD 4000.

I downloaded it and I have Mountain Lion. It wants me to upgrade to Yosemite. Anyway, is yosemite any good? I'm scared some games won't run. ;-;

I run Yosemite on both of my macs, it's very similar to Mavericks. Make sure to upgrade all of your apps (from the mac app store) before upgrading Mac OS, and you will be fine. If you have any apps that aren't from the Mac App Store, make sure to check for updates on those apps as well (for example Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Software) before upgrading.

I wouldn't be too concerned by Yosemite, plus all of my Steam games runs perfectly fine on it.

Just what I needed Todd, thanks for the confirmation.
