I am not sure where the exact files you are talking about are placed, but all the Steam files should be in:

/Users/"Your Mac User Name Here"/Library/Application Support/Steam
i moved the files to that directory but still cant get the saved games back

Icloud Drive can sync only Desktop and Documents from your home directory. It can't mess with the Library's files.

I'm not familiar with the game in question but a few Mac games I've played have had saves etc. go into a folder (usually the name of the game) in the Documents folder on my Mac. I suspect iCloud is moving those. Maybe they should go back in the documents folder. According to a post on the GOG forums the location (if it's the Enhanced Edition) should be:

..\Documents\Icewind Dale - Enhanced Edition\save\

You might be able to get the game to create a new saves folder if you start a new game from scratch, then you'll know where to put the older saves etc. If you make a note of the save file name, you could search for it easily (I'd hope).

I don't know if that will help, but hope it does.

In your Mac's system preferences, under iCloud, you should be able to change the options for the iCloud drive to not include the desktop and documents folders if you wish. Or if you turn it off entirely, it should ask if you want to keep a copy of the files that have been moved to iCloud. If you do that, they should be in an archive in your Home folder.
