(Mac) OS X: Privacy and Firewall
This one problem is quite annoying and just frustrating.

I already have Steam's "Accessibility" checked in the System Preferences and Security & Privacy window. But whenever i boot up Steam, it tells me to turn it on, even though it already is. I have to uncheck and check Steam again for it to work.

I also have to go into my firewall and allow incoming connections, even though steam and the game i want to play is already allowing those connections to go through.

Just need some help or ideas on how to fix this. And if anyone is having the same problem let me know... Thanks

It started asking to allow incoming connections here on either the last update or the one before that (I'm using Mavericks). It never asked before that. I suspect a problem in Steam itself as I've seen a similar issue with a few applications and they had to fix the problem. The last update also caused all my installed games to appear as uninstalled and that has never happened before either. Clicking install will cause it to scan the files and realize it's installed, but it can take a few minutes to ten or more for larger games and becomes a hassle if you've got a lot of installed games. I hope this trend in problem Steam updates does not continue.

Do we really need what is probably quite literally the 100th thread for the same problem?

Yeah, exactly. I have a quite long and complicated admin password, so is there a solution for this annoying problem?

This has been happening to me for the last 1 1/2 month (first on the beta, then on the public steam app). It is annoying, plus I get a 45 seconds freeze of my whole computer everytime I launch a game. No fun at all. I bet they are trying to hire a second OS X developer but don't know if it will fit in the budget. Those scared Valve.

Just quit Steam and relaunch, it will resolve the "I don't see the library because I loaded in too slow" bug. Next step: Steam formatting the disk and shutting down the computer. The Steam OS option is excellent, but please bare with us along the 'all OS's should receive the same respect".

Let's face it. No one at valve cares about this issue. There are a bunch of threads, most started in 2014, and there has never been one solution to this problem that has been more than a temporary fix. Yes, the problem still exists, but obviously it's just another Steam bug that won't ever get addressed. Valve is too busy trying to sell movies to bother.

What versions of macOS are you all using?

Hi dimajjio!

One system is running 10.11.6, and the other is running 10.7.5 (older machine). The funny thing is that I didn't have this problem until about a week ago, when it just started happening to both machines. I'm not sure if it happened before or after the last update, but the only solution I've found online is to delete most of the Steam files and allow it to reinstall. I only tried this on the older machine, but it didn't work.

Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.
