Overheating?

Hello i recently purchase a Macbook pro 13" 4gb ram, i5... I was playing several games on steam and other platforms... LOTR, GW2, Baldur gates... the games runs fine but it takes only 5 min of gameplay and i noticed the bottom on my mac is too hot... 70º on the graphic chip in my temperature monitor... is this normal? I don't wanna ruin my mac so... I can't play? I need another complement? Any help plz?

the GPU does run hot when it's pushed, but for most things you're not going to get into trouble...

That being said, look around there are ways to control the fans more directly, you can try to turn the fans to max while you're gaming to keep the temp down better, as long as you're plugged into line power.

70 °C is far from being too hot. My 15" rMBP reaches sometimes about 90 °C when being severely taxed, and that's with a cooling pad and increased fan speeds (with smc Fan Control).

If I recall correctly, even temperatures above 100 °C are still within the safe specifications.

My iMac GPU runs 150F and up. My frame rates drop when it gets hot. (it throttles down) so I run something FREE called Macs Fan Control. google and download it. You can force more fan when gaming. I set my fans to increase as temp increases. Totally eliminated my slow frame rate problem when it heated up. I use another app "Temperature gauge by tunabelly software to monitor. It lets me set 3 different fans in my imac.

Hint: try set your game to run on low graphic settings, then your pc won't work as hard.

Its fine. In fact there CPU ang GPU can push up to 100˚
