Official Yosemite - Mouse & FPS problems
Hi,

I just installed Yosemite, but my mouse seems acting weird in CSGO now, lot of lag.. It isn't the acceleration thing (which is disabled ingame). I unplugged the USB which helped a lot but it doesn't feel right anymore..

Any suggestions?

---UPDATE

I did a restart, i thought it did the trick. Got 200 fps in the beginning. But suddenly it dropped and it wouldn't even get higher than 60. It just randomly drops to 60FPS and its unplayable because of mouse lag, than suddenly it jumps back to 200. Something is leaking..

---UPDATE2

When i've got a FPS of 60 and its lagging, and i CMD TAB to desktop. It seems like its "reseting" or something because when i go back in the FPS is normal again.

Just would like to clarify that this is happening to other players outside of Valve/Steam. It's a patch issue and it is up to the game developers to release them..

The renice command change the priority of an application that is RUNNING. So you dont want to quit the application before changing the priority of it.

So, when using the command in the terminal you have to enter:

sudo renice -20 (number of the process you want to change here)

You can get the process number by 2 way:
-Open the process monitor (into utility) and find the number of csgo process (PID)
-Using the command ps Ac directly into the terminal window

why the number -20? Because this is the highest priority into osx. This is how it is set.

Fixed it by downgrading to Mavericks. The lag and crashes are definitely caused by a lot of factors, but the downgrading of OS worked it out for me.

1. Saved back-up of personal files (non-game files) somewhere else.
2. Download Mavericks from your App store purchases.
3. Prepared a bootable USB drive for Mavericks (at least 8GB, but I recommend 16GB).
4. Erased hard drive (basically reformat); tried installing Mavericks without reformatting Macintosh HD but it always fails.
5. Reboot with USB Installer drive.
6. Install Mavericks.
7. Install Steam.
8. Install game (in my case, Dota 2).
9. Optimize video settings.
10. Play smooth game of your choice.

There is a shorter process if you have a Time Machine back-up with Mavericks. I don't really use Time Machine, so I had to do it this way. Hope it helps. Search online for specifics on downgrading.
i have install windows, it runs very well with 200+ fps :D but ty

Got my macbook 3 months ago, i have the same issue, but unfortunately i installed asap yosemite. Tried the renice command, nothing has changed :(. I hope there will be an update for that. 200fps for like 5 seconds, then it drops to stable 60
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS METHOD ANYMORE. STOP SENDING ME MESSAGES FOR HELP

I know this is way late (I don't play CS anymore) but I made a script that helps launch CS:GO and set the priority level. I'm going to make a new thread with updates

If anyone is still having mouse problems in yosemite, I have just fixed my problems, this may not work for you but everything is back to normal on my mac and all games work.
I plugged in a R.A.T. TE mouse which exhibited the same problems as my magic mouse, I then downloaded the software for the R.A.T. TE installed it, re-booted and everything works perfectly even the magic mouse, all yosemite problems have gone, all games function smoothly and even photoshop is working again and all functions are faster.
That just means the software is doing a great job with the driver for the mouse. Glad to hear it's working well for you!
