How To Play Steam Games For Windows On Mac
I am going to show you how to play Steam games for Windows on Mac. This is extreamly easy to do and does not require Boot Camp.

First, go to this link: http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/ to download WineBottler. It allows you to run Windows only files on you Mac such as .exe files. (WineBottler is required to run Steam games for Windows.)

Once you install WIneBottler, go to this link: {LINK REMOVIDO} to download the Steam Wrapper. This is basically Steam for Windows that is used specifically on Mac.

Download the zip file, Drag the zip file onto your Desktop, unzip the file, and you should be presented with the Steam for Windows application.

Double-Click the Steam for Windows application. It takes sometime to open, but it will.

And there you go! You are now able to install any Windows-only games on your Mac! You will have to use Wine to run the Windows-only games.

Also, if you want to install or run any Windows-only games, you will have to use the Steam for Windows application. Because of this, you will have to switch between your primary Steam for Mac application and your new Steam for Windows application depending on if the game you want to play is for Mac or Windows.

(PS: The Steam for Windows application may freeze at random and you may have to restart it.)

I'm using Wine to run steam for windows on a mac. The games work, nut it won't give me an internet connection. RIP
Same thing happens to me man. For some reason, i'm able to play multiplayer games like Company of Heroes, but i'm unable to go to the Steam Store to even look for games.

The Steam Wrapper link is down. You can just download the Steam for Windows, right from steam's website. It works just fine with Wine Bottler.
(Just go to the download page, and select the windows version)

I would do this but i heard the app doesn't work really well on later mac updates and that its highly illegal. and my suspicions were proven when i got winebottler and my parents were yelled at for downloading and illegal app used for anonymous torrenting and free apps without permission so do not try this anyone,

FREE STUFF IS NOT WORTH A PRISON SENTENCE!!!!!

FWIW, I use Crossover. It is commercial but it is worth it, IMHO. Dirt simple and they support Steam directly (i.e. you can install the latest windows steam and use it to install stuff) as well as GOG stuff.

I have WIneBottler dowloaded already due earlier games have needed it. I have never played Steam games with this and so on. I would be interested if it can run ARK: Survival Evolved and The Isle -games which both are quite high with graphics. I have El Capital (2013) and I was wondering on how can I switch between Mac and Windows Steams in able to play them?

thanks, i always enjoyed the Winewrapper.. now Wine Bottle. Good good stuff.. My default is Parallels (does not crash) but comes at a cost.. with costly updates.

I've been experiencing a problem where I successfully downloaded Skyrim and was able to run it, however it doesn't let me change the resolution or the aspect ratio.
Here are my specs:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013)
CPU - 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7
RAM - 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
Monitor - 2800 x 1800

Also, is there a way to find the installed Microsoft version of Steam because I think I have to install steam every single time when I try to go on it again after shutting it off.

For some strange reason, when I boot up my wineskin Steam, it displays the login menu like usual, but all the text is gone and even if I type in my login info in the boxes, it refuses to log me on. I don't know what's happened.
