How To Play Steam Games For Windows On Mac
I am going to show you how to play Steam games for Windows on Mac. This is extreamly easy to do and does not require Boot Camp.

First, go to this link: http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/ to download WineBottler. It allows you to run Windows only files on you Mac such as .exe files. (WineBottler is required to run Steam games for Windows.)

Once you install WIneBottler, go to this link: {LINK REMOVED} to download the Steam Wrapper. This is basically Steam for Windows that is used specifically on Mac.

Download the zip file, Drag the zip file onto your Desktop, unzip the file, and you should be presented with the Steam for Windows application.

Double-Click the Steam for Windows application. It takes sometime to open, but it will.

And there you go! You are now able to install any Windows-only games on your Mac! You will have to use Wine to run the Windows-only games.

Also, if you want to install or run any Windows-only games, you will have to use the Steam for Windows application. Because of this, you will have to switch between your primary Steam for Mac application and your new Steam for Windows application depending on if the game you want to play is for Mac or Windows.

(PS: The Steam for Windows application may freeze at random and you may have to restart it.)

Whilst I used to use this, it isn't the best. For example whenever I try to use it nowadays after getting updates and stuff. It can't run. And even when I did manage to get it working, it ran slowly. I'd only recommend this for small games or indie developed stuff.

Well, it worked perfectly for me when I ran big games like The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim and South Park: The Stick Of Truth. I guess it depends on what kind of Mac you are using. If its a laptop, then I could see why its laggy for you. Do you use a Macbook?

No, full iMac... Although *blushes*... It's kinda from 2009, and I've been meaning to update since the stone age... You now have permission to stone me....

Ahh cool, I have an iMac as well. Actually, its from 2011. Can you please show me your specs? Your problem may have to do with your iMac's specs.

I doubt that its the specs since a mate who got a full iMac just last year had similar things but here they are:

Software: OSX Yosemite 10.10.2
Processor: 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics: 21.5 Inch (1920 x 1080) ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB
Network: Broadbabd Internet connection
Hard Drive: 568GB available space (give or take)

Have Paralells for Windows 7 Home Premium (I think)

Used to be able to play Skyrim completely, as evidenced by over 100+ hours of gameplay (even if it was lowest settings and lagged sometimes) but now I just can't even open the Steambuild. So meh...

ya i saw that. I have a full iMac as well, except from 2011. Have you tried to reinstall Skyrim and try to start it again (btw that wont cause your progress to be lost)?

What the Steam Build 1BD3D or something. Had it since I purchased Skyrim and I had the Wine applications at the same time.

OK GOOD. Right click on that application and select "Show Package Contents" then follow this root: drive_c>Program Files>Steam>steamapps>common> And Make Sure That Skyrim Is in there. If it is, tell me what exactly goes wrong when you try to start it, like if the game can even start or something. Also if there is an error, tell me what the error says. However, If it isnt in there, install it and try to start it. Make sure you start it through the Steam Build 1BD3D Application.
