Something Inexplicable About JRPGs

There's just something about JRPGs like Dark Cloud 2, Tales of Vesperia, and Eternal Sonata that I can't help but love. I'm getting beautifully drawn anime story, a huge, fascinating world that somehow feels deeper than the lore given to you through playing the game, and interesting and engaging game mechanics that make sure that even when you're just enjoying the scenery, you have a plan for all of your characters, or at least some rough ideas of which direction you're going to upgrade their current weapon! I don't need an RPG, it could be a puzzle game for all I care I just really want something that satisfies this need for a big wonderful story/characters and engaging, difficult, and thought provoking gameplay mechanics. If there's anything like this for Mac, please share it with me. If I could get Eternal Sonata on this thing I would, and Valkyria Chronicles seems doomed to a Port-less life... Help!

Ooh, I do love Eternal Sonata, but it is PS3 and XBox 360 only, no PC or Mac.

But for Mac, I really loved Costume Quest 1+2, and Saturday Morning RPG.
