Can't create Steam library folder or download any games
Hi

Opened up steam for the first time in a very long time and being hit with the error 'You do not have enough disk space available to run this game".

The drive I'm installing to has 1.4TB of free space.

When I go to the app's preferences and try and select/set the Steam Library folders I get a spinning icon for it searching, and I cannot create a new folder.

I've thrown Steam in the trash twice, re-downloaded the app, deleted all previous Steam data and it's the same. I can't install the library folder or games anywhere on my machine.

Any advice on what to try next?

Many thanks.
Iain

Me too. Same problem. Also, doesn't save my password, and also asks me to agree to the license agreement EVERY TIME I launch Steam. Help? Anyone?

Steam error "You do not have enough disk space available to run this game
Mac (OS X Yosemite):

I use to play Civ 5, Beyond Earth, Godus and Europa without any issues. Then had to re-install steam since then I get an error message: 0 disk space error when trying to re-install the games even though I do have 500GB free

- It does not matter which game I choose to install – even smallest (though worked before)
- I have deleted steam and all the games from all folders and re-installed

Also it seems Steam does not recognise my Stream Library Folder.
Steam folders are not in available in:
~/Library/Application Support/Steam/

I’ve raised a ticket end of March and wait for weeks before steam support contact me to ask for computer spec. Then weeks before they tell me to look in ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/
And remove a folder. All I would like to do is play my games like I use to. Can anyone help please

The quickest workaround is to become superuser and:

# cd /Users/yourusername/Library/Application\ Support
# mkdir Steam
# chown yourusername:staff Steam

This will allow the Steam client to store its data. After executing for the first time, you'll be able to login the next time and install games. I've just verified it.
