Then don't get it. You can get into some serious trouble for bypassing school filters. I would know, from experience.

If the teachers blocked it, you can't download Steam client for playing computer games on school PCs.

It still generates reports of installed software and web activity and sends it to your school, so do what you want butit is at your own risk.

You could always try downloading/installing to a thumbdrive. 'Course, they may have protocols in effect regarding plugging things into the USB ports. And they may also have blocked the ports on their network that Steam wants. (Don't know if there's a major software package that needs them.)

Belive me, its not hard to bypass school filters. Risking getting caught doing it is not worth the risk. But, if you REALLY want to do anything, set up a seprate partition and give yourself administrator on the OS you install on that partition.*
Of course, this only works if you have the computer assigned to you, and its a laptop, and you have a lot of time, and you can take it home.

*Please note that Ericrct does not reccomend these actions and Ericrct is not responsible for any inconvinience and/or anything that gets you into trouble that happens when you do this.

I know its now 2019 but if can download steam, put it on your desktop, create a new folder on your desktop, then right click steam and "show package contents", drag the package contents into the new folder that you just made, then rename the folder "stem.app" (or really anything you want but just make sure to add ".app"). This will cause your mac to run Steam as an application even though its not in the applications folder.
btw Docter Peek, the fact that your way of getting past school filters works is hilarious to me due to its simplicity and how a schools have been blocking things in such "advanced" ways but totally missed something huge.

Yeah that doesn’t work - trust me. In the end someone made a whole new steam at our school that was cracked but I don’t have it.

How do you set up a separate partition though?
