Steam on Mac
Hello
I am interested in buying No Man's Space with a PS4 or PS5 controller. But before that I need to download the Steam app. I have done this, found it was already on my Mac from some years ago, deleted the old one, moved the new one into Applications as instructed in the usual Mac was (drag & drop into Applications), but it won't open. The Steam icon appears in the Dock after I click on it to open it, but when I click on that or on it in the Applications folder, nothing happens. It doesn't seem to open.
I have been trying to find Settings on the Steam website to see what I need to do to set up the controller when I get it. I am signed into my Steam account. Apparently I should click on the Steam logo in the top left of my screen. But there is no such Steam logo in the top left, which makes me think this refers to the Steam app?
I am confused by all this. I cannot find "Settings" anywhere on the Steam website.
Can some one point me in the right direction please.

I'm having the same problem. M2 Max MacBook Pro, Sequoia 15.3.1 Most of the threads about this with fixes are from years ago, I have tried them all with no success. Clicking on the Steam app just does nothing at all. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Also having trouble running it in my windows emulation, it loads and runs for 2 sec and then quits... but that will be for a different forum.

Have you tried to delete the app from apps folder and delete everything steam related from your macOS libraries? Sometimes I do this on my macs and it is good!

After that, redownload and reinstall steam mac version from the official steam website.
Sorry pal, this is something you are going to have to wait on for Valve’s contractors to fix.

It’s on the list of bugs to fix but it’s very very low priority.
