Steam Client for Mac Discontinued?
Hey everyone, I've been hearing that Steam is discontinuing their client for Mac Os in 6 months and have ceased any updates for the Mac version. I really wish they'd come out with an M1 version but it sounds like they're just letting it die completely.

Does anyone know if they'll refund us games if we don't have a PC to play our games on? I also feel like they'll be missing out on a decent market share with the growth of M series chips being adopted by a lot of people.

Wherever you're hearing this from is using outdated or completely incorrect information, Steam is not entirely discontinuing all of MacOS Support. Just Catalina (10.15) and older.

As for Silicon based Mac Hardware:
Is Steam compatible with Apple's Silicon Macs?

Steam can only run on Apple Silicon M1 and M2 Macs through Apple's Rosetta 2 translation technology. It's essential to note that while Rosetta allows the application to run, some performance limitations and inconsistencies might occur compared to running natively.

Does Steam work on Apple Silicon?

Yes, reported working via Rosetta 2

TL;DR - Use Rosetta 2 on Silicon MacOS Hardware.

The most recent beta update, from January 14th, has a bug fix specifically for macOS. They've definitely not ceased updates.
