bought assassins creed II today and the install won't start downloading

Any idea? I tell it my path to download to. It then says preparing assassin's creed II files for install... and never gets past that. I've installed 3 dozen games so far and never had this before. I've been trying to start the download for hours. Rebooted, re-ran steam - everything and it won't start.

WEIRD - I let it set all night trying. (was still trying when I got up... I canceled and started (retired) this morning. Nothing changed here... no restart or reboots and today it worked fine.
Probably something restarted on Steams end I guess.
Oh well. downloading now.

Mine installed but usually doesn't recognise the keyboard on my Mac (normal Mac keyboard, nothing weird), and on my PC it just says "UPlay failed" and dies. I have zero confidence in Ubisoft's ability to deliver anything but steaming dog turds & won't buy or recommend their ordure unless they start fixing it. That's a lot of fail for the price of a full price game.

i bought ass2 like 3 years ago. the servers got overloaded in the beginning stages of the release and as we all know how reliable ea is they basically said f*** it and scrapped it. you need the servers to even run the singleplayer -_- however they left it up on the steam store to collect money off of. kinda really fu**** up concidering its like 25$ too. :/ should really contact steam about it so they can consult said problem.

Problem was it wouldn't download from Steam, next day it did... game then ran fine. for 3.99 I figured I couldn't go wrong even if I'm not typically into such games.

mine SO FAR - connects to UBI and plays fine. My issue was getting the steam servers to download it.
