How to get flash working with steam on a mac. (for GM tower/other games)
I (a loyal Mac user) have spent the good part of a week trying to find a way to get Flash to work with my Garry’s mod; I searched in all corners of Internet trying to find a solution that wasn’t ‘Get a windows computer’. After this I decided to try solve this problem myself, using both paid for and free software till I found this fairly easy and free solution. I hope this will work for you.

Step 1: What you will want to do first is install Wine bottle, which is a free Windows emulator, this allows you to run windows application. You will be able to download Wine bottle from: http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/
Now download version 1.7.10 or higher if available.

Step 2: Once downloaded drag both ‘Wine’ And ‘WineBottler’ in the applications as you are told.

Step 3: Now open ‘Wine Bottler’ from your Application folder. Once in the application window scroll down to ’04 Games’ and install steam, choose where to direct it, this can be wherever you would like the application to be.

Step 4: Now that you have Steam installed open it up. Once open you will need Counter Strike: Source, Team Fortress 2 and Garry’s mod. You will also need to go onto the steam workshop for Garry’s Mod and get the GmTower Collection Made by ‘MacDGuy’, if you don’t get it from MacDGuy this may not work, and subscribe to all.

Step 5: Now that you have all the games downloaded start up Garry’s Mod and let all the GM tower collection contents load into the game, this makes it easier later.

OPTIONAL: You can also connect to a server now, as this may make connecting later easier, but remember flash will not yet work.

Step 6: Now to install the flash player, go to: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ select ‘windows 7/vista/XP/2008/2003’ for operating system, It will NOT work with windows 8, then select ‘Flash Player 12 for other Browsers’, Or if a more up to date version is available use that.

Step 7: Now this has been downloaded open it from your downloads via ‘Wine’. Once you have open the flash installer via wine make sure ‘Run Dircetly in’ is selected, now in the drop down menu make sure the location contains ‘org.kronenberg.winebottler.steam’ as the steam indicates you are installing it straight to steam. Now just continue to install.

Step 8: Once done installing start up Garry’s mod, and join a GM tower server, once in you can test if it has worked by going to the cinema, going to the arcade or going and watching TV in your suite.

Now that your flash is working all you need to do now is have fun! And if you can donate to the makes of Wine Bottle to keep this program running for free.

Noted Problems that I have found are:
1. When launching Steam it may come up with launching error, but don’t fret just keep trying to launch and it should launch.
2. When in Garry’s mod full screen sometimes the screen flickers, just put it down into a window and this should stop.
Any other problems please feel free to share them.

During part 3, where you create the steam.app, it always fails and shows console for mac. Please respond to this if you know how to fix it and have the time to.
