Bluetooth Crashes Steam
I use Bluetooth to connect my PS3 controller for games. If I adjust pretty much any setting or disconnect the controller Steam just crashes entirely. It's happened many times and I didn't seem to have a problem with this before the more recent updates.

Yes, this also happens with me. I used to use the xbox 360 controller, which will automatically power down after a while of disuse. So you can imagine it was very frustrating, because if you left the game idling for just a few minutes, the controller would shut off and cause Steam to completely crash. All progress lost.

One sort of workaround: I switched to using a PS4 controller with my Mac. (Still use the 360 controller for windows.) The PS4 controller connects dirrectly to the built-in bluetooth or a cheap USB bluetooth adapter. As far as I can tell, it either never shuts off on its own, or it waits a very, very long time. It hasn't happened to me yet. (I just have to be sure to remember to shut the controller off manually when I'm done by holding down the PS button.)

I like PC gaming as much as the next person, but I use OS X for my media PC. It allows me to use iMessage and Facetime. Awesome for a living room PC. Imagine returning text messages right from your couch without getting up even though you left your phone in the kitchen to charge. It's nice. Also, OS X is just FreeBSD. So, I can run all my servers from my already-always-on living room PC. And with Steam in-home streaming, you can play any game on Steam. And you can use the iTunes remote (actual remote or iPhone or iPad app) to watch iTunes, and XBMC remote for XBMC. And the final straw: Magic keyboard and magic trackpad, connected via bluetooth. People come over and immediately want me to set up a Hackintosh media PC for them.

I know you were just trying to be a smart alec, but you are the one who's missing out.

@Pevey Hey, where you able to connect Magic Trackpad to Steam Link? It won't show up in the bluetooth device list for me! Any ideas?
